Jacks win petite final at Dad Vail

PHILADELPHIA – Facing possibly their final race of the season, the Humboldt State women’s varsity eight pulled out all the stops and took the petite final at the Dad Vail Regatta on Saturday morning.

“It was a great race,” head coach Robin Meiggs said.  “We showed much more confidence and composure today.”

Humboldt State finished in 6:56.981 nearly a full two seconds ahead of Nova Southeast (6:58.971) and close to 10 seconds in front of third-place Dowling (7:05.311).

The Dad Vail Regatta marks the end of the regular season for the Lumberjack rowers.  HSU must now wait to see if they get a bid the NCAA Championship at Lake Natoma, in Gold River, Calif., on May 28-30.  The announcement of the championship field will be made on Tuesday, May 18.
