Soccer announces spring schedules

ARCATA – With off-season training sessions nearly finished, Humboldt State men’s and women’s soccer head coach Christian Johnson announced the program’s 2010 spring schedule on Thursday.

On Saturday, April 24 in Redwood Bowl, both the Jacks sides will take on Alumni teams.  The women take the field first with a scheduled 3:30 p.m. kickoff, then at 5:30 p.m. the men have their turn.

On week later, on May 1, the Jacks will host three games in Redwood Bowl.  At 9 a.m. the men host Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT), followed at 1 p.m. with the women facing off against OIT.  At 5 p.m. the day wraps up with the men taking on Nevada.

ARCATA – After two road losses to open the 2010 campaign the Humboldt State women’s soccer team (0-2-0, 0-0-0 CCAA) opens conference play by welcoming the Coyotes of Cal State Bernardino on Friday for a 4:30 p.m. kickoff.  Then on Sunday, the Cal Poly Pomona Broncos are in town for an 11:30 a.m. tilt.  The California Collegiate Athletic Association action takes place in Redwood Bowl.

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – In a steady downpour, the Western Washington University Vikings scored in the 15th minute and made it stand up as they defeated the Humboldt State women’s soccer team 1-0 in the final non-conference match of the year for the Lumberjacks.

SEATTLE, Wash. – For the second consecutive year the Humboldt State women’s soccer team opened its season on the road against the Seattle Pacific Falcons at Interbay Stadium.  The result in 2010 was the same as 2009, a 3-0 win by the home team.

ARCATA — On Friday, the Humboldt State women’s soccer team opens its 2010 season in Seattle, Wash., against perennial national powerhouse and No. 17-ranked Seattle Pacific University in a 4:30 p.m. kickoff.  Then on Monday the side will face Western Washington in Bellingham at 12 p.m..  The matches will be the only non-conference tilts for the Jacks this season.
