CCAA Hoop Championships in full swing Friday

ARCATA — Lumberjack Arena will be the site for four basketball games Friday when the California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships enter the semifinal round of play.

Games get underway at 12:30 p.m. with the first women's semifinal matching Cal Poly Pomona taking and Chico State. The host Lumberjack women's squad goes up against CCAA regular-season champion UC San Diego at 3 p.m.

Men's semifinal action begins with Cal Poly Pomona taking on Chico State at 5:30 p.m. In the other semifinal, the HSU men are set to battle Cal State San Bernardino at 8 p.m.

Friday's winners will vie for the CCAA tournament title and an automatic berth in the NCAA West Region Championships on Saturday. The women's game is set for 5 p.m., followed by the men's final at 7:30 p.m.
