ARCATA — Following a roadtrip sweep of two games in Southern California last week, Humboldt State men's basketball has moved up two positions to No. 4 in the NCAA Division II West Region rankings released Wednesday.
HSU defeated Cal State Los Angeles and Cal State Dominguez Hills on the road last week. The Lumberjacks (14-4 in DII games) trail No. 1 Seattle Pacific (15-2), Western Washington (16-3) and California Collegiate Athletic Association rival Cal State San Bernardino (11-2) in the latest poll.
Behind HSU are Dixie State (12-4), Cal Poly Pomona (9-4), BYU Hawaii (8-4), Alaska Anchorage (7-4), Central Washington (9-5) and Northwest Nazarene (8-5). Eight teams will qualify for the region tournament at the end of the regular season and CCAA Championships tournament.
Hunboldt State is home this week, facing San Francisco State on Thursday and Cal State Monterey Bay on Saturday afternoon. The CSUMB game will be televised nationwide on CBS College Sports network.
The regional rankings will be released weekly on Wednesdays through March 3.
