ARCATA — Humboldt State's Mike Proulx and Kyle Schierholt have been selected as Great Northwest Athletic Conference players of the week after leading the Lumberjacks to a 33-23 victory over Dixie State College in the season finale Saturday.

Proulx, a sophomore from Castro Valley, completed 26 of 42 passes for 299 yards and four touchdowns in earning Offensive Player of the Week honors. It was the second time Proulx's been recognized this season, the previous occasion following the Jacks' season-opening win over Adams State.

Schierholt, a senior from Chugiak, Alaska, converted field goals of 33 and 19 yards in the fourth quarter to provide the Jacks with their winning cushion. He also averaged 42.8 yards on five punts.
