Girls' Volleyball Camp

The HSU Girls' Volleyball Camp is open to volleyball players entering the 7th through 12th grades. The camp will improve your volleyball skills on an individual as well as team level. Skill development will be enhanced through competition and game-simulation drills as well as video analysis. Special sessions on fitness and conditioning, nutrition and goal setting will be featured, along with discussion time with Humboldt State's intercollegiate players.

Dates: Sunday, July 20 through Wednesday, July 23, 2008
Times: 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

James Kealalio has stepped in for Sue Woodstra as the interim head coach of Humboldt State's Volleyball program while Woodstra took a leave of absence to coach with the Women's National Team for the year. This will be Kealalio's third year as the camp director. He will begin his fifth year as the assistant coach in the fall. His main responsibilities are providing individual instruction in all phases of the game and setter training.

Woodstra is in the midst of an assistant coaching position with the Women's National Team. While with the National Team she has traveled to Mexico, Brazil, Poland, Russia, China, Canada and Japan. The National Team qualified for the Olympics in November 2007 at the World Cup Tournament in Japan. She will return to Humboldt after the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

Cost: $395 for all resident campers and $300 for commuters.

Enrollment is limited and will be secured on a first-come-first-serve basis.
